Save the date for a Symposium to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Latter-day Saint Exodus across Iowa, the founding of Kanesville (forerunner of Council Bluffs), and the granting of Iowa statehood - all in 1846. This event will be a two-track Symposium featuring Latter-day Saint (Mormon) scholars, local historians, overland trail experts, archeologists, geographers, and many more! This event promises to deliver a harvest of new insights into early Council Bluffs/ Mormon history. A musical concert and several fun activities will follow on Saturday evening at Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park.
