This event is a live Facebook event that will take place on the Council Bluffs Public Library Facebook page. This virtual event is free to attend and has been made possible with the help from the Council Bluffs Public Library Foundation. 

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, Laura Keyes, of Historic Voices, will portray renowned suffragist Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Stanton fought for equal rights for women for over fifty years and inspired feminists for over a century. Keyes will pick up Stanton's story following the Civil War in 1866 when the war was over, but the battle for Women's Suffrage was just beginning. Laura F. Keyes, a librarian in Northern Illinois, and has been portraying women from history since 2008. She enjoys researching literary symbolism and has been very active in community theater since 1999.
