Arrowhead Trail Run is a 5k marked course at Arrowhead Park near Neola, Iowa. Choose the traditional 5k distance, two laps for a 10k, or complete as many laps as you can in a 4-hour Enduro! Medals will be awarded to the top 6 Males and Females in the 5k, 10k, and Enduro events. All are welcome to run, jog, walk or hike at your own pace while enjoying the scenic lake and wooded views. 100% non-profit event with all proceeds supporting the Pottawattamie County Trails Association.
As winter begins to transform into spring, join naturalist and folk herbalist Dustin Clayton for a renewing hike and demonstrations focused on the spring, or vernal, equinox. You’ll learn about medicines the forest offers this time of year, how to recognize ephemeral spring flora, and some tips for learning to recognize local trees. We'll also discuss the stories our ancestors told about springtime, as well as some traditional lore associated with the other beings we share the land with. We'll examine how this body of traditional knowledge has shaped people's relationship with the natural world. Hosted by naturalist Dustin Clayton. Cost is $10/person. Ages 16+.

Join us for the Archaeology Roadshow with the University of Iowa Office of the State Archaeologist (OSA) on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Participants can bring a small selection of artifacts (up to 5) to discuss with the archaeologists! This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Carter Lake has scheduled our parade and festival for July 29th this year. We would like to extend an invitation for you to participate in the parade and festival on Saturday, July 29, 2023. This annual event fosters community spirit and will provide a full day of family fun and activities for all ages. It also provides excellent advertising and exposure for your business or organization! It will begin with a parade and will be followed by food, entertainment, carnival games, and rides at Mabrey Park. The fun will continue at 4 at the Hamilton Sports Complex with several bands in attendance, along with food trucks and a spectacular fireworks display put on by our very own Fire Department.

Carstens 1880 Farmstead is a living history exhibit of how farming practices have evolved from hand labor to horse machinery to tractors, giving visitors a look at the things that have formed our rural heritage. Just us for the annual Farm Days, which includes family fun for everyone! Antique power will be on full display. There will be steam engines, antique tractors and implements in operation. Vendors with food and crafts that will fulfill everyone's tastes. A parade takes place each day at 2 pm.

Railroad Days is an annual celebration of all things train and track, and this year, all the fun will be happening in Council Bluffs! Celebrate CB's rich railroad heritage and place in history as historic Mile Zero for Union Pacific Railroad. There will be numerous train-themed activities and locations to visit between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
The Union Pacific Railroad Museum, RailsWest Railroad Museum, Pottawattamie Arts, Culture and Entertainment (PACE), the Historic General Dodge House, and the Historic 100 Block of Council Bluffs are again teaming up to offer this annual event.
